I used to do it all the time, especially when thinking about leaving BigLaw. I'd say things like:
🚫 I don;t have a choice
🚫 I can't leave
🚫 I'm just stuck here for the rest of my career.
🚫 I've made my bed, and now I have to keep lying in it.

You have a choice. You always have a choice. Even when it doesn't;t seem like you do, you do. You may not like a particular choice's consequences or potential outcome, but it doesn't mean you don't have one.
This episode is a manifesto, a call to arms to get you thinking differently.
To get you to embrace your power to choose and not give it away by throwing your arms up in despair and accepting that things have to be the way they are.
Listen to the end for a simple exercise you can implement now to start changing the language you use and require your thoughts.
