Cigarette Ban Outrage and the Country of CHOP
Description
After 100 days of lockdown, the wheels of the economy are starting to turn once again. Well, that is excluding the tobacco industry and any businesses associated therewith. The ban on the purchase and sale of cigarettes remains, despite the economy losing out on over 3 billion rand to date.
Government has been hell-bent on irrationally limiting our rights in this regard, despite the rapidly increasing societal outrage. Why is the ban still in place? Is the government genuinely concerned about the health of its citizens or is this simply a power trip? The more concerning question is whether Dlamini-Zuma and company are receiving kickbacks from the illicit cigarette trade? We discuss all of the above and more (whilst trying to remain calm).
We move on to a more humorous topic, namely the autonomous country of CHAZ (now called CHOP). Many of you will not have heard of this wonderful little country in the middle of Seattle, USA, so we shed some light on it. Run by a warlord, and blocked off to the outside world, CHOP is the place to be.
