Atlantic Threads is an initiative led by Pivô in partnership with African Artists’ Foundation (Dig Where You Stand), and Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. This project prologue was supported by the Embassy of France in Brazil, and the Institut Français, in the framework of the Brazil-France Season 2025. The artists were welcomed in Paris as part of the “Institut français x Cité internationale des arts” residency program.This conversation traverses the respective experiences and practices of two black women architects in different contexts. It evokes African and Afro-descendant architectural heritages, highlighting the importance of the body and informal practices of urban space in defining new approaches and ways of thinking, building and sharing the city. This dialogue is moderated by Olivier Marboeuf, author, curator and cultural theorist.
