Cooper's 'Improbable' Catch Secures Indiana's Victory
Update: 2025-11-09
Description
On November ninth, Indiana football secured a dramatic victory over Penn State, thanks to an incredible, game-winning catch by redshirt junior receiver Omar Cooper Junior. Known as The Catch, this play, occurring with thirty-six seconds left, sealed a twenty-seven to twenty-four win for the undefeated Hoosiers. Cooper, who had a slow start with only four catches for four yards before the final drive, made a leaping, extending, and toe-tapping catch in the back of the endzone, defying physics. Coach Cignetti called it the most improbable victory of his career, clinched by one of the most difficult grabs in program history.
