On the morning of Saturday, April 26th 1986 the worst nuclear disaster  in history took place when a nuclear accident took place at reactor  number 4 in the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant near the city of Pripyat,  Ukraine. At the time, this was known as the only nuclear accident to  ever be rated at a seven, the maximum rating, on the International  Nuclear Event Scale. It was a complete catastrophe. This is the  catastrophic Chernobyl nuclear disaster of 1986.
