Darci Collins - Shares Her Daughters Story of Dealing With Cheyann's Ovarian Cancer
Description
Darci Collins's only daughter, Cheyann Shaw was diagnosed at the age of 23 with a rare form of ovarian cancer called low-grade serous ovarian cancer. This type of cancer was resistant to chemo and was stage 4 and terminal. Halloween 2016 Cheyann had 6-6.5 hour debulking surgery, where she had 4 blood transfusions, part of the colon, part of the bladder, and part of the small intestines, were removed, which caused a temporary ileostomy bag, her appendix, gallbladder, lymph nodes, spleen, and 5 tumors removed, one was the size of a beach ball. Cheyann's determination to beat cancer never went unnoticed and she fought every day through diet and her regular workouts. January 2021, Cheyann lost her battle to ovarian cancer, but her legacy lives on through the journey she documented along the way. This is the story of Cheyann and her mother Darci's journey with Darci's ovarian cancer.
