Description
Pastor Erik continues our series of walking through the Song of Solomon.
3 Main Causes of Conflict:
1. Unmet Expectations
2. Self-Centeredness
3. Spiritual Warfare
3 Promises We Make As We Deal With Conflict:
1. I Will ACT and not REACT
2. I will Focus on the GOOD and not the BAD
3. I Will TALK and not WALK
10 Tips for helping you talk through conflict:
1. Ask Yourself “Why am I Upset?”
2. Remind yourself you can’t read their mind
3. Schedule a time to talk
4. Discuss just one issue at a time
5. Avoid name calling or attacking the person’s character
6. Avoid the words “always” and “never”
7. Use “I Feel” Statements
8. Take turns listening and speaking
9. Don’t yell- instead, take a time out if you need it
10. Seek to understand and come to a place of resolution. What is your goal here for meeting? Just getting things off your chest is not a good reason to meet and dump on someone.
