Decent Work for All – Pipe Dream or Possibility? | Featuring Dr. Jennifer Luke | Careers Research Fellow at University of Southern Queensland | Thrivable Future: Episode 6
Description
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, many have left their jobs or switched to other careers. But is this truly the beginning of The Great Resignation? Or is there more to it?
In this episode, we talk with Dr. Jennifer Luke, a Research Fellow (Wellbeing & Employability) at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) about Sustainable Development Goal 8 – focusing on decent work for all.
Jennifer works with the Drought Resilience and Innovation Adoption Hub at USQ, and is also a professional member and Queensland Division President of the Career Development Association of Australia.
We learn what decent work means, how it differs between people, and the ways that governments and organisations have approached the problem. We also look at how both employees - and employers - can contribute to making better working conditions.
