How much heat does GM Omar Khan deserve for signing the 34-year-old Slay to such a rich contract? Would the team have been better off investing that hefty salary elsewhere? Or does he deserve credit for the emergence of James Pierre and Brandin Echols within coach Mike Tomlin's defense? On the other side of the ball, was Khan's faith in Wilson as a viable receiver in this offense warranted? Or is the promotion of Adam Thielen and Marquez Valdes-Scantling from the practice squad a de facto admission that the team's plan at the position was inadequate behind DK Metcalf and Calvin Austin III?
