Description

“When you connect lessons to students' lived experiences, you make the learning real and impactful.” — Larry Hunt

In this episode of Teacher Edition podcast, Jenny discusses with experienced educator Larry Hunt the world of digital citizenship through a Biblical lens.  With a rich background in education and ministry, Larry shares his journey of contributing to  a comprehensive digital citizenship curriculum that spans from kindergarten through high school.  By integrating it into existing lessons and emphasizing detailed instructions for teachers of all proficiency levels, the Be CyberSmart! tool ensures lessons that are doable and practical for all educators.

Throughout their discussion, Jenny and Larry discuss:

  • The critical decision to connect digital citizenship with students’ daily lives

  • The extensive research and careful attention to creating age-appropriate lesions

  • Strategies for teachers to incorporate these mini-lessons within their busy schedules

“One of our goals was to ensure these lessons were not only educational but also flexible and easy to integrate into the existing curriculum.” — Larry Hunt

In today’s world of evolving technology, educators are not only mentors but also examples as stewards. We have the power to guide students in navigating the online world safely and responsibly, while grounding them in strong, faith-based principles.
