One in four adults experiences mental illness in a given year. Most of these conditions are treatable. The stigma surrounding mental illness is lessening, but more needs to be done.
Heather Irish is the founder and CEO of MINDS: Shining Light on Mental Health, a non-profit organization that educated school students about mental illnesses and suicide prevention.
MINDS curricula includes a high school, middle school, and 5th grade program. Founded in 1998, every year MINDS reaches over 25,000 students with their message of hope, help and recovery from mental illness.
