Doc, U R… An Advocate for Yourself and Others
Description
The Doc, U R… Podcast aims to empower physicians (from medical school and beyond) and combat the stigmas surrounding their mental health and diminish physicians affected by limiting beliefs, working small, and burnout. We aim to increase awareness and education about physicians' and other healthcare workers' mental health challenges.
The objective of the podcast is to de-stigmatize physicians' mental health. The goals are to humanize physicians, bring awareness to their healing needs, and advance our understanding of suicide to strategically prevent suicide attempts. The theme this season is “Navigating Mental Health & Medicine: The Cost of Burnout.”
This week, Dr. Kiki speaks with Dr. Oluwatomi "Tomi" Mitchell about the shackles traditional medical practice places on physicians and the importance of advocating for each other in order to break them.
