Does anyone really die in the One Piece world ? I mean explicitly, except Ace

Description
Oda seem to have real trouble killing secondary characters of his show like Pell or Mr2. I think it could deepen the meaning of One Piece if he did. I mean some characters like the doctor glover are written to die in the end but if anyone could die it would be more interesting.
