God is looking for a personal relationship with each one of us. When we get religious, we stop listening and we play a game. Solomon tells us not to be over righteous, but also not to be over wicked. The man who fears God will avoid all extremes as only God can produce right living and wisdom. We can’t add anything to the fact that we are fallen human beings, and we bring nothing to the table with Him. This gives us great appreciation for Eternal Life.
