One of the greatest paradoxes as an artist is finding the will and way to sustain yourself all while keeping that dream alive. While I do think there's a place for manifestation and unbridled optimism when it comes to art, I see so many folks become discouraged or misguided by a belief that creation in itself will bring them immediate success. Holding a day job isn't about putting your art in the backseat, it's understanding that in order to create to your highest capacity, you have to take care of you first, especially in a generally hostile atmosphere monetarily speaking for the bulk of working artists in today's day and age.
