We’re discussing the so called “Women Empowerment” events and the spike in these events all over. Unfortunately, a lot of these events are not empowering at all. In fact, some of these events are nothing but a mere popularity contest. Some of these “empowerment” events are being thrown strictly for monetary purposes resulting in attendees walking away with nothing tangible for them to feel empowered after purchasing a ticket for $80-$100. A lot of people attend these events because there is a “celebrity” headliner and/or just want a photo opportunity to post on social media. Keep in mind we’re using the word “celebrity” VERY loosely. However, events that are held by someone who is not of a “celebrity” status or doesn’t have a high profile headliner, are unable to fill seats at their event. Furthermore, “women empowerment” events are being held by male promoters who have never empowered a women a day in their lives! Sometimes even hearing the two words “women empowerment” is cringeworthy because we hear it so much now knowing there are people who don’t really LIVE their lives actually empowering woman.
