EP 45 – Erik Aude – Overcoming Adversity since Childhood, 3 Years Imprisoned in Pakistan, One WILD Life Story
Update: 2018-10-03
Description
* Betrayed by a friend
* Arrested in Pakistan at 21
* Tortured & incarcerated for 3 years
* How did he cope?
* What did he learn?
Erik Aude (@erikaude) is a Hollywood stuntman and actor turned inspirational badass. Erik began his journey through adversity at a very young age when he was hit by a bus and told he would never walk again. Defying the odds since the 80’s, Erik fought through his prognosis and went on to have an impeccable career in Hollywood as an actor and stuntman. He’s been in countless films and TV shows like “Dude, Where’s My Car?”, CSI, American Sniper, and his most challenging role in Nat Geo’s “Locked Up Abroad” where Erik played himself in his own traumatic story. In 2002, Erik was arrested in Pakistan after being duped by a friend who was actually smuggling Opium. He would spend 3 years in a Pakistani prison where he endured unbearable conditions and somehow still came out the other side with a positive attitude and an unshakeable life prospective.
This was a very special episode of 60 Shots To Fame. Erik’s remarkable story had our entire crew on the edge of their seats as we threw out our agenda and just listened to an unbelievable, first-hand account of a traumatic injustice. Erik’s documentary about the ordeal, “3 Years in Pakistan: The Erik Aude Story”, is premiering at the Laemmle Theater in NoHo on September 28th and will be released on virtual platforms October 2nd. Without spoiling any of the incredible details, we will simply say you’re going to want to tune in to this one.
If you want to find out more about Erik, his career and his story check out his Instagram, Twitter and IMDB. You can also buy tickets to his documentary at the Laemmle Theater.
