A growth principle that’s been written about in thousands of books but not often discussed is bringing in an outside advisor to your company. What if you’re a one-person company? It might even be more important. Outside advisors help make some major changes internally and externally that helps companies to thrive. Bringing in an outside consultant is important in today’s fast-paced, ever-changing, and forever getting faster changing society because he or she can see and smell everything that you don’t. Billions have been made when people were willing to remove their ego and stopped saying, “How can I grow this company ten times faster?” and they said, “Who can help me?” That one simple shift in your internal questioning opens up doors and put turbo charges on your company.

Why Outside Advisors

This is a podcast where my wife and I live our life and as we come across what we think is pretty decent information that can help somebody grow a business. We make a real short podcast and drop what we call a growth nugget. I’m going to drop a nugget that is ages old. It was written extensively in the book, Think and Grow Rich. It’s been written about in thousands of books. However, I find it interesting that it’s not that often discussed. It comes up once in a while. It’s a growth principle. It’s biblical. It’s just not that discussed. I’m going to jump in and go like this. Have you ever considered bringing in an outside advisor to your company?

What if you’re a one-person company? It might even be more important. I want to state for the record that we have consulted as our parent company name, Today’s Growth Consultant, 3,100 and some odd companies since 1992. McDonald’s, Harrah’s Casinos, MCI WorldCom, Auto-Illustrated, some of the biggest companies out there. We have definitely helped the top and bottom line of a lot of companies. We have been the outside advisor often. However, we don’t know what we don’t know to run our own company internally. With that, even though we are technically consultants that are brought in to grow companies, we decided to bring in one, David Corbin. David’s famous for a couple of different things. He did a nice job working with one of the largest pizza places in the United States. He helped them make some major changes internally, some major brand changes externally, and that company is really thriving today.

The bottom line is we’re month seven of a twelve-month contract with one of the greatest business minds of our time. Many of you know David Corbin from the book Illuminate. If you have not read Illuminate, I would stop listening to this podcast and go read it. It is that awesome. David has decades of business experience. He was Brian Tracy‘s partner for quite some time. Some of you know Brian Tracy, one of the most successful consultants and growth experts. He wrote a famous book called Psychology Of Selling that I quote often. David used to be his partner. The concept is this, a growth consulting firm, brought in an outside growth consultant. Why would we do that with a hundred plus people on payroll and all they do is think about how do we grow business?
