Veteran Dancehall artist Macka Diamond pulled up to the Entertainment Report Podcast studio while in Toronto for an unfiltered conversation about her legendary career in Dancehall and Reggae music.

Macka Diamond spoke about growing up in Portmore, recording for the late King Tubby, her original stage name Lady Mackerel, and her early association with Queen Paula. She also shared how she met Lady Saw and eventually started performing with her, becoming part of Beenie Man’s Shocking Vibes Crew, and her early connection with Vybz Kartel.

In this exclusive interview, Macka opened up about what led to her name change, getting her big break after 14 years when she recorded for Birchill Records, her past clash at Sting with Lady Saw, and why she was a no-show at the highly anticipated clash with Spice.
