Description

Welcome to Whakarongo - the podcast representing the voices of thousands of tamariki and rangatahi in state care in Aotearoa.

Last year, we marched to parliament calling on the government to uphold six promises relating to our basic rights, and this year we’re talking to the young people affected by those promises being broken.

This episode is about Aaliyah - and the promise of help and access to education.

We also talk to Isaac Heron, co-founder of TE4CL (Tertiary Education 4 Care Leavers), a charity that is aiming to make education access easier for those leaving care in Aotearoa.
