Description

On this episode of the blackside podcast, Tari Rusere shares her thoughts on the relevance of movements like Black History Month in the UK.

Having moved to the UK from Zimbabwe when she was 10 years old, Tari didn't see the relevance in celebrating the diverse richness of Black history in a monolithic-seeming single month.

However, in recent times, from getting more integrated into British life and being more divorced from Zimbabwean culture, she believes that Black History Month may just be helpful in reminding Black children and people that there is more to history than English history, which is the default version many children learn in schools in the UK.
