Lex Lowry touches upon social media’s trending uproar over Donald Trump’s demand for more funding to build a Wall, a promise he made in his campaign for President in 2016. This has led to a Government shutdown after his meeting with Charles Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. All of a sudden people on social media have become the budget police as to how Trump’s Wall would be a waste of taxpayers money. A Florida Amputee Army Veteran began a crowdfunding campaign to help pay for Trump’s Wall which seemed to cause more scrutiny through memes surfacing the web. This allowed impugning anyone who supports this crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe. In the midst of the public’s criticism they fail to hold themselves accountable as consumers as they’ve partaken in 2018’s Holiday gifts and festivities that could’ve been reallocated to fund programs, charities, finance local crises they claim they are advocates for as it caters to the convenience of their anger and outrage.
