In this latest ultra-cosmic transmission of HERE COMES THE BACKKLASH, DJ POOLHOUSE once again invites his remote viewers into his radiant, ongoing experiment in pop-art audio assemblage — one with plenty of crackle and snap.

Poolhouse is joined by Poppy — British artist, drummer, and beloved bohemian barge-dwelling internet e-foid. Poppy steps from the periphery of the Backklash universe to become its newest muse and interlocutor, percolating toward the guest chair… and beyond.

At the episode’s heart lies The Poppy Show — a pseudo–show-within-a-show in which roles invert and Poolhouse becomes the subject of his own inquiry. Here, Poppy leans into the producer’s spirit, hosting her host in a delightful discussion on octolectics, garbology, and the mysteries of civilization — all refracted through a refreshing blend of the philosophical and the playful.

The result is a meta-conversation as glittering and self-aware as a mirrorball: two electric minds weaving history, myth, life experience, bricolage, and armillary spheres into a living pop-art audio tableau.

This dream team engage in a conversation which gradually reveals itself to be a psychic exhibition of sound. Together they navigate the absurdities and enigmas of 21st-century “New Normal” living, drifting through the tidal confluence of the real and the produced, the techno-spiritual and the cyber-demonic, the artifact and the product.

Pop! Goes the Octolectic is a technological encounter with the Spirit, another landmark entry in this Poolhousean intimate audio happening serial – another dazzling, impossibly charming moment, artfully etched into form from the ether.
