Episode 008 – Arrested Development: Public Relations
Update: 2012-04-11
Description
- Introduction
- How are you?
- News and Feedback
- Jeffrey Tambor and Michael Cera on WTF
- Doing the shows leading up to the movie to give backstory on everyone
- Said Will Arnette went in and gave a complete different version of GOB than the others, originally more like Tobias
- Dan R mentions how Mike wishes Steve Holt has cancer.
- Six-Second Synopsis (Mike): Michael hires a publicist to help improve the family’s image. Unfortunately, unlike Buster, not everyone in the Bluth family can be neither seen nor heard, and things don’t go according to plan.
- Moments
- Bryce:
- Headline about the bluths fight at the restaurant. Another headline says Musician sues restaurant over using their name-Ike and Tina Tuna
- “Now that you’re bringing it up, she’s cute, she’s a cutie, cutie, little cutie-pie
- Tobias saying he’s not a good actor like Pinkett-Smith
- Mike:
- “I’m going to need a volunteer for my next illusion, The Aztec Tomb!” “Tooomb?” “Or box. Box is…fine.”
- “Murder, huh? Who died?” GOB: “My careeeer.” Michael: “I’m gonna go home now.”
- “And it’s all your fault, Opie.” Narrator: “Jessie had gone too far…and she had better watch her mouth.”
- Trisha Thoon explaining that the press is having “a love affair” with the Bluth family.
- Also the “I’m the laaaaast cop…” scene, but I don’t want to steal it from Miles. But it’s one of Tobias’s funniest scenes/lines in the series in my opinion.
- Miles:
- “Water” flashcard and kid says “woman”
- Lucille has no patience for commoners. “Plate or platter?” “I don’t understand the question, and I won’t respond to it.”
- Fun word play: “Michael, if this is a lecture on how we’re all supposed to whatever and blah, blah, blah, well you can save it, ‘cause we all know it by heart.”
- Subtle acting moments: Michael is so smitten that he keeps spitting out gum while exercising.
- Buster being the child-like adult: “I thought you meant like a plumber or something, and I was like, ‘What did that happen?’”
- Addressing clichés, dramatic walk away: Michael saying “Jessie…” as she walks away, but she wasn’t far enough away yet.
- Addressing clichés, dramatic act break: “What do you need her to spin?” “Murder.” Music cue. “Murder, huh? Who died?” “My career.”
- George Michael gets bum away from banana stand by giving him a balloon. Later, when they show the paper of the smear piece on Michael, there’s an article called “Bum Gets Balloon”.
- Tobias photo bombing Carl Weathers being interviewed by Trisha Thoon.
