Episode 021: Frank Peebles | Journalist | The Prince George Citizen | The Future of Newspapers
Frank Peebles is a veteran reporter for the Prince George Citizen daily newspaper. His career has spanned more than 20 years on beats including crime, health, education, politics, industry and A&E. He also has a busy freelance schedule for magazines and websites and has ventured into public relations and marketing for interests as diverse as hockey teams, events, music acts and members of the B.C. Legislature.He has won numerous provincial and national awards for his journalism.
Frank also writes for fun. He has created poetry, short stories and a play. This has led him to the stage and recording studio to perform spoken-word pieces, community theatre, emceeing numerous events, and he is the annual host for the celebrity live interviews at Northern FanCon.
Although he loves winter dearly (go Canucks!), Frank suffers indigestion and nervous ticks during the snowy months until MLB spring training restores his peace of mind. His wife Carla and four children take him snowshoeing and pour him craft beers to help calm his baseball urges.
