Hello, and welcome to the first episode of Get Cozy, It's Story Time.  📍 This podcast features original stories that I've written.  I'm Melissa Halfman, and I live on an island in the North Pacific called Kodiak Island. It's an Alaska, and you may have heard of us because we have the largest brown bears in the world. 

So as it dips into fall here, the leaves are falling. The cold wind is blowing. It's a time when my family and I sit down, and I start to write stories - children's picture books - stories based upon the funny things that my two little kids have said. So in the mornings, as I sit at my computer and tap, tap, tap, like, you'll hear the mama do in this do...when I get to certain parts of the story creation when I need a character name, or if there's an animal that suddenly appears in the story. I'll turn to my kids who are usually in the comfy chair behind my desk, curled up under a heated blanket. And they will fill in the details.  My two kids, Alden and Sophia. I love to listen to podcasts for kids. And so they were so excited when I came to them and said, Hey, I think that we should share some of our stories on a podcast of our own. And that is how get cozy it story time came to be.
