Description

Love is often expressed with gifts such as flowers and chocolates, but those same gifts can be used to manipulate, control and threaten in the hands of a stalker.

That is a lesson that Alice Ruggles learned the hard way from her obsessed ex-boyfriend Trimaan Dhillon who couldn't handle her rejection.

The way the police were here made me so angry as it reminds me all too well of a very similar situation I experienced. They do not have any regard for the seriousness or fear this poor girl was in. My heart truly breaks for her cos I can imagine the terror that this girl truly felt. She's so nice and sweet and understanding with the police officer on the phone and that role should have been the other way round!!! I had been strangled three times in a less than 12 hour period and the lack of interest from the police in my case was hurtful. They were seriously uneducated with regards to violence and abuse. I lost all trust in the police and left the area completely as a result due to so much trauma and no support. I can't even drive into that locality now without suffering massive anxiety. This was just outside Glasgow... Lanarkshire police are an absolute disgrace. In fact I asked to make a complaint once on a different occasion when I handed in a bag that I found walking the dogs and was point black refused by the ignorant woman at the desk. Disgusting really. I feel there are two kinds of people that enter the police force... The ones who genuinely want to make a positive difference and then there's those who are in it with their ego. I'm not even at the end of the podcast and my heart is breaking for Alice's friend. I'm an empath and I'm truly feeling her pain. They poor poor girls 🤤 Again, massive thank you to the hard work that your team puts into all you do. I learn a lot from listening to these.

Melinda Lee Wood I could actually believe that 😕 there needs to be a complete overhaul on how society perceives this as a whole and the police are definitely not a bad place to start 👍🏼

Sarah-Jane Percy i just read that 2 studies have shown domestic violence happens in 40% of law enforcement homes...it makes me wonder if it has an effect on how they treat domestic violence victims 😭

This one got me. Just the way Alice sounded so kind and innocent. Plus the emotion of her roommate
