S7 Episode 168
Update: 2020-08-16
60
Description
We often think of true-crime from the perspective of law enforcement trying valiantly to pursue the perpetrator and make them face the justice system. Have you ever considered what it would be like if you were in the hot seat? What if you were the suspect in an awful crime? What if there never really was a crime committed in the first place? William Hurt and his family were dragged through the justice system back in 2012 as part of a wild goose chase. Their journey still hasn’t concluded.

This is an 18 year old CHILD! Cops are so bad. Oh man they think he is 18 he is an adault. Whelp sorry guys just because they are 18 doesn't mean they are not still young and innocent. Wow stripping this kid of his innocence.
Now that Im listening to this. I am having a hard time. Man a conviction no matter the cost. this is terrible.
wow what assholes. great advice thank you
Great episode MIKE.
Great episode MIKE.
This was hard to listen to. Excellent advice about not talking to cops. They are not your friend, they are just doing their job. They are looking out for the best interest of the case, not the best interest of you. Especially if you are a suspect. Lawyer up, or take that vow of silence.
great show...everyone needs to hear this story!
after this one I listened to an episode of the dr phil podcast and he basically says the same thing about not talking to cops.. "can we get you anything. would you like a drink?" "LAWYER!" Don't drink the drink and let them obtain your DNA without knowing! kinda funny hearing the same words coming from 2 people as different as dr phil and mike lol
thats probably the best episode I have listened to
Guess you got it all figured out huh?
Only the guilty, stupid and those with learning disabilities give false confessions. Should we really feel that bad?
that was a frustrating episode, love it tho
my pop was a cop his whole life and he told me the same thing ... he gave me the exact same advice
Thank you for this episode! I am a lawyer, and I have been teaching my family for years to never talk to cops without a lawyer. It's always twisted in the press to seem like "lawyering up" is a bad thing; it is, however, the only smart thing.
Damn I felt bad for him..2 on 1 how could he win when they keep twisting he’s own words against him..smh
