Description
At thirteen, during gym class in May 1961, James leaned against a fence, looked at the sky, and suddenly shifted into a profound mystical state. He experienced a white light, an indescribable oneness, and unconditional love. He felt outside his body, floating above the schoolyard, and realized he could choose to stay or return. Choosing to come back, he awoke to his teacher and classmates gathered around his body. The experience left him certain that everything is one, that God is present in all, and that love is the essence of existence.
