Episode 236. Garrett Fraser, FTR Golf's Breakthrough Solar Powered Golf Cart
Description
In this episode the boys sit down with Garrett Fraser of FTR Golf. A golf pro turned entrepreneur that went through the Alberta PGM program and has since developed an innovative golf cart that is produced in Canada and features a solar roof that charges it's lithium ion batteries.
Having grown up in Saskatchewan and Alberta, Garrett is very familiar with the challenges of running a golf course and maintaining the fleet of golf carts on hand. After having the insight that there had to be a better solution, Garrett and his partner Sean Mills set out to understand how to develop a solar powered golf cart. Their journey lead to a partnership with The University of Alberta to develop a state-of-the-art technology that would allow solar panels to power their lithium ion golf cart batteries.
Not only are these the most efficient golf carts entering the market, but they are specifically designed with today's golfer in mind.
We dive into how Garrett was introduced to the game of golf (using cut down Nicklaus Blades to start his journey) and how his father introduced him to the PGM program where he would go on to become a golf professional before turning entrepreneur.
The boys also dive into some wisdom and insights The Great Alan Riley shared with him (especially the art of rocking the sweater vest).
