Episode 26 - Building the Confidence to Make a Change
In this week’s episode, I talk with Angelica Patlan about her journey through a couple of different majors in school to years as a police dispatcher and how that led her to explore HR! Why HR? During her time as a dispatcher, she saw employee turnover that wasn’t addressed, she saw opportunities to improve morale and communication. She was told that “didn’t have anything to do with HR” but she felt differently!
More about Angelica Patlan...
As the proud daughter of a single mother and first generation college graduate, Angelica has been breaking down barriers and overcoming obstacles since day one. She recently transitioned into HR with a nontraditional background and is passionate about employee engagement and bettering the feel of the workplace. She has a B.A in Anthropology from Smith College and a M.S. in HRM from SNHU.
How to connect with Angelica...
In this episode you’ll specifically learn...
- How to stand in your own power, and not focus on what you “don’t have”
- How to network and put yourself out there to meet new people...which leads to new opportunities you didn’t even know existed
- How to identify what you want and why...and then how to tell that story with confidence
