Description

Everyone is everywhere online...and that can be a terrifying thing for parents when it comes to letting their kids be on social media.

How do we as Parents filter content on their phones without being a helicopter parent

  • Things to look out for: spending too much time on social media (maybe even addiction), bullying, becoming anti-social in real life, depression or anxiety, connecting with strangers, and sharing information, pictures, or videos with strangers.

  • Child trafficking often starts on social media. Specific dangers on specific platforms.

How to combat the bad stuff: Use parental control software like Bark- Bark’s parental controls let you block apps & websites and create screen time schedules to help keep your kids safe. You can also monitor social media, texts messages, and apps for dangers like bullying, depression, predators, and more.

Keep accounts private and set up as many privacy and safety things as possible. Set rules and boundaries including limiting time spent on social media. No social media before _____ age as parents we decide?!

Carefully consider any accounts before 15.

Check their phones. A lot. Phones don't go into their bedroom at bedtime. Keep bedroom doors open

Help influence those who are not Christian, help new Christians, etc.

Share your life as an example. Share your knowledge. Share your passion. Promote a cause or organization.
