Episode 327: “The Karate Kid” (1984): Movie Review

This week, Chris and Derek go back to the year 1984 to review the original “The Karate Kid” starring Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita. The guys discuss the box office, behind-the-scenes trivia, the cast, scenes, legacy and more. In particular, Chris focuses on the debate as to who the ‘real’ protagonist of the film actually is (people have argued that Johnny Lawrence is the protagonist and Daniel Larusso is the antagonist).

For the “Fun with Caveman” segment of the show, Derek quizzes Chris on movies with the word ‘kid’ in the title.
