Description

This week we began our semester long conversation around growing and maximizing our Financial Capital. Starting this journey from Matthew 6:19-34, we discovered from the Sermon on the Mount a little of Jesus’ view and understanding of money. The big thought from these verses was that “how we use our money gives us a peak into what we believe really matters in our lives”. Or to say it another way, “Our finances give us insight about our faith.” During this week’s teaching we learned that God really does care about our financial situation and that how we think through our relationship to money is incredibly important. While Financial Capital is the least of the Five Capitals in order of value, unfortunately an unhealthy attitude toward Financial Capital does lead to too many of our life problems. More friendships, partnerships and marriages end over financial issues than almost any other thing. So, this semester we are going to approach our posture toward money by concentrating around the areas of “Give, Share and Make” in order to help us maximize our Financial Capital in a healthy way.
