Finding Happiness In Something You Aren't Good At, with Megan Tobin
Description
In this weeks episode Megan Tobin, the principal coach of TMT coaching shares her story of burnout and how she found a way out through something she didn’t feel she was good at.
Megan is an endurance athlete, a Triathlon Coach, and a recovering corporate marketer. Despite having a successful career, Megan was left feeling unfulfilled and burnt out even though everyone told her she was crushing it. It was actually through trying an activity she was not good at that she finally found her greatest joy.
After experiencing burnout and hitting walls, Megan was advised to start self-care. She described seeing other triathletes and feeling like that was something she could never do. Not one to step away from a challenge, Megan hired a trainer and ran a 5K three weeks later. The following month she completed her first triathlon!
In this episode, we explore what we have been taught about success, and how we are taught to seek things we are good at. However, it was only when Megan pursued something that she wasn’t good at that she experienced the greatest joy. Not only did she learn to believe in herself, but she learned the value of doing an activity because she loves it and just how important meaningful self-care is.
