Fitstyle Radio 05 – Female vs. Male Training
Update: 2018-05-15
Description
We are all affected by given stereotypes that are placed upon us whether it be our race, gender, faith or other circumstances. When in the gym, men and women can experience a similar underlying pressure to conform to what we are “supposed to be and do.”
You’re a female? You must be doing glute kickbacks with a quick superset of squat jumps…
A man you say? Without a doubt you can hit 225 for reps on the bench press…
While these are slightly over exaggerated, they proclaim some real truths when entering the iron paradise.
In the week’s episode, Monica and I look to tackle and shed light on some typical stereotypes about both female and male training.
Based on our own knowledge and experience, we provide some insight on how both men and women should train their bodies.
While all of our approaches will be different, there are a few main principles that apply and should be focused on no matter what.
The question we have for you is… “What stereotype have you been personally impacted by while training in the gym? How were you able to shift your perspective and overcome it?”
