Ford's New Electric Truck: Level 3 Autonomy & AI Assistant
Update: 2026-01-08
Description
Ford unveils plans for level three driver-assistance systems by 2028, starting with a midsize electric truck in 2027. The tech will debut on their new electric vehicle platform, developed in California. The system will not be standard on the base truck, with pricing yet to be determined. Ford is building this in-house to reduce costs and improve quality, using lidar sensors unlike Teslas camera-based system. Most automakers focus on highways, but Ford is exploring city streets. Theyre also developing an AI assistant for vehicles and mobile apps this year. Checkout Solipillow.com
