This 53:32, listened to 1/19/19, shook me to my core and reminded me of who I am - a survivor. I set upon the path to forgive the monster of my past in 2009 and realized how very much I may have extended the forgiveness to that monster, I have never truly forgiven him, nor myself for allowing him to do what he did. This podcast struck me hard in the chest with that one single realization - I didn't give permission. I need to forgive myself for carrying the burden of "letting" him do what he did. I have faltered in my journey to move forward and have allowed life to beat me down. All the thankfulness we need in our souls, all the forgiveness we extend to others, we need to do for ourselves. Thank you.
