Friend Buys Shaq's Mansion, LLC Raises Eyebrows
Update: 2025-12-08
Description
Neal Blinde, a Capital One executive, purchased a nine-million-dollar mansion in South Charlotte, formerly owned by Carolina Panthers star Shaq Thompson. The sale set a new record for the Carmel Park neighborhood and ranks as the third-highest home sale ever in Charlotte. However, the LLC managing the property lists Bryant Holloway Owens, an executive at Wells Fargo, as the manager, raising questions about his involvement. Blinde and his attorney, Bill Mills, confirmed Blindes purchase but declined to explain Owens role. Owens, who is a great guy and longtime friend of Blinde, has no financial interest in the LLC, according to North Carolina law.
