From Helicopter to Drone Parenting: How We Lost Perspective
Description
In this episode, we take a brutally honest look at how parents have gone from letting their kids fend for themselves to literally being drones, on top of their kids' every move. From Life 360 to Apple Tags, and even following our kids to College, we need to stop over-monitoring and start teaching our kids the skills to make their own decisions and the values to know right from wrong. And not just droning, we are snow plowing, aka plowing the road ahead for our kids so they don't even encounter problems, which is a recipe for the LEAST resilient kid on the block. How do we shift our approach so that the next generation can grow up with real resilience, a clear sense of right and wrong, AND not need their parents to accompany them to college? This conversation is as hilarious as it is serious, and if you are offended...buck up, and learn to take a joke!
