GLB Elettrica Versus Audi Q4 e-tron
Description
The sources provide a detailed technical comparison of two compact premium electric SUVs: the forthcoming Mercedes-Benz GLB EQ (2026 full electric generation) and the Audi Q4 e-tron (2025 model). Both vehicles are positioned in a similar premium market segment, but they are oriented toward different consumer priorities. The GLB EQ is showcased as the ideal choice for larger families, emphasizing interior space, offering up to seven seats, and providing significantly greater luggage capacity. Conversely, the Q4 e-tron is highlighted for its superior efficiency and quicker, sporty acceleration.
The GLB EQ is built on the new MMA platform and features an advanced 800V architecture. It is equipped with a large battery capacity of approximately 85 kWh (with around 75 kWh usable), giving it an impressive estimated WLTP autonomy of 600 to 750 km. The vehicle supports ultra-rapid DC charging up to 320 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes. It also includes features like Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functionalities. The Q4 e-tron utilizes batteries ranging from 59 to 77 kWh, providing a shorter WLTP range of 406 to 554 km, and its maximum DC charging rate is about 175 kW.
In terms of dimensions, the GLB EQ is the larger model, measuring 4.63 to 4.65 meters in length, and boasts a generous trunk space ranging from 570 L up to 1805 L. The Q4 e-tron is more compact at 4.59 m, making it potentially more agile in urban settings, and offers a smaller maximum luggage capacity of 1490 L. While both offer similar energy consumption figures (GLB EQ: 15.8-18.3 kWh/100 km; Q4 e-tron: 15.9-17.4 kWh/100 km), performance differences are noted.
The GLB EQ offers power outputs between 250 and 350 CV and achieves 0-100 km/h in approximately 7 to 8 seconds. The Q4 e-tron, although having a similar power range (204-340 CV), excels in top-tier acceleration, achieving 0-100 km/h in as little as 5.4 seconds, and provides higher torque (up to 679 Nm).
Interior features of the GLB EQ include a high-tech cabin with premium materials, such as ARTICO leather, and a giant MBUX superscreen featuring up to three integrated screens. Mercedes-Benz intends to unify its thermal and electric offerings under the GLB name, with future mild-hybrid versions planned. Despite the Q4 e-tron's advantages in acceleration, the GLB EQ is ultimately recognized for winning in terms of overall versatility. Both vehicles have competitive starting base prices, with the GLB EQ starting around €48,500 and the Q4 e-tron starting at €47,300.
