Description

Are you a qualified accountant and ever questioned whether it’s the job you really want?

In this episode of The Variants Analysts, trainee chartered accountant turned hospitality CEO Gavin Adair joins our host Adrian O’Connor to discuss his somewhat unconventional career path.

Gavin, by his own admission, is an accountant that should never have been an accountant. After receiving A-Level results that meant he couldn’t study law at any of his preferred universities, Gavin chose the accountancy route as a way in.

From there, Gavin continued to build his career in the world of finance by becoming a trainee accountant at Grant Thornton, where he would go on to succeed at every venture and end up travelling and working overseas.

Still, Gavin knew that finance wasn’t what he really wanted to do.

After taking risks and substantial pay cuts, Gavin arrived in the hospitality industry where he was able to reach the point he is at today - CEO of a 30 restaurant group and very successful delivery business, Rosa’s Thai Cafe.
