Eithan, Kieran, Ethan and Stacy return to bring Episode 24 of the Rugby League Review Podcast, and its another special guest in the form of Barrie McDermott.
Being such a long servant to the game, Barrie discusses his career in various parts of Rugby League, starting his career at local club Oldham, before making moves to Wigan Warriors and then a 10-year stint at Leeds Rhinos before finishing his career at Widnes. Playing 15 times each for both Ireland and Great Britain, he also discusses his experiences of the 2000 World Cup, as well as how he feels international Rugby League should develop.
Since retiring, McDermott has become a regular face on TV screens for Rugby League supporters across the country, and in the podcast goes into what his role now entails, and how the game has now changed between his playing days and the present day.
Barrie also tells the story of playing his part in Kevin Sinfield's '100 miles in 24 hours' to raise money for the MND association , in support of former Rhinos teammate Rob Burrow.
