Glennon Doyle and Brené on Untamed

Update: 2020-03-24356

Strap yourselves in! In this episode, I talk to my dear friend and sister Cheetah, Glennon – author of the New York Times #1 bestseller, Untamed. This is an honest conversation about walking away from the lifelong training that keeps us small, quiet, and afraid, and embracing our wild, brave hearts.

Glennon is the author of two #1 New York times bestsellers – Untamed and Love Warrior. She’s the author of the New York Times bestseller, Carry On, Warrior, an activist, and the founder of Together Rising, an all-women led nonprofit organization that has revolutionized grassroots philanthropy – raising over $25 Million for women, families and children in crisis. She lives in Florida with her wife and three children.

I cried at least 7 times. You women have unlocked some powerful secrets of the universe and womanhood. I kept having to hit pause so I could write quotes down. My favorites are "There is no such thing as one way liberation" and "Feelings are for feeling." There were so many stories of wholehearted parenting from both of you that just took my breath away. Thank you for sharing this with the world, and for wearing matching pajamas. I want some!

I absolutely hated this and couldn’t believe how insipid it was. I used to like Brené Brown before she was “Brené Brown”. Listening to her speak with Glennon Doyle was insufferable. It sounded like an SNL spoof of the NPR ladies-except it was non-ironic. No more Brené Brown for me-and definitely no Glennod Doyle. What a complete hack.

Good enough marriage... cheetah story explained ... why did I not pick this book up when I saw 3 copies at Target several weeks ago? I must have it now. I'm hearing the story of my life. Thankfully, I saved my own life by walking away from a 30 year marriage after 3 years of therapy, pain, and guilt.l because I couldn't force myself to stay in it for safety. I realize now why I have always loved cheetahs. Brene, I discovered you first and you helped me through that time with Gift of Imperfection. Glennon, you are helping with the look back and understanding what happened to us, our taking. You and your sisters are my Angels, Goddesses, Spirit Guides. Love to you all.

This was SO SO powerful and uplifting!!! I am curious tho if you can recommend a book or author that speaks directly to men overcoming the ideals placed on THEM in this society. I have a Male friend who is trying to do that as well and we talk about it often. I will share this with him because I think he'll be able to see the connection, but just curious if there are things specifically directed to men in this arena? I am so grateful for you! Thank you!
