Government Analytics Webinar: Janice MacKinnon and Peter Weltman on the Covid Economy
In this edition of the Government Analytics webinar series on the Covid economy, I sit down with renown Saskatchewanian Janice MacKinnon and Ontario Financial Accountability Officer Peter Weltman on the provincial and municipal debt loads facing our country. Janice MacKinnon is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and a member of the Order of Canada. When serving as Finance Minister, Saskatchewan became the first government in Canada to balance its budget in the 1990s. Dr. MacKinnon is currently on the Advisory board of the Canadian Global Affairs Institute and serves on the Board of Governors of the University of Alberta.
Peter Weltman was appointed as the Financial Accountability Officer for the province of Ontario in May 2018. Prior, Peter spent many years in Ottawa working for various departments in the federal government including the Parliamentary Budget Office. He serves as the past President of the Canadian Chapter of the International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEEA).
