Grading The Graders On Their New Announcements; Three "Outside The Box" Ideas To Make The Hobby More Fun; 3-Month Update on Fantasy Sports Card Draft
Description
EPISODE 159 - Clark, Hyung, and John start the show by giving a 3-month update on their fantasy sports card draft to see who's team/portfolio of players is delivering the best ROI (based on the CardLadder index data). You can catch that draft episode here.
Next for Hobby Headlines, the guys "grade the graders" based on how impressed (or not impressed) they are of some recent announcements and updates by SGC/PSA/BGS. That includes the new $15/card fee by SGC as well as the launch of its new app, and PSA adding another feature to its own app.
Next, Clark introduces a new segment called, "Just A Thought" where he pitches three (some ridiculous) ideas on how to make the hobby better or more fun (ie. dual Topps certified autograph card with an IP auto of the same player?)
Finally, they play their regular "Pick 1" segment where they are given two players or cards and subsequently debate which one they would rather invest in. Hyung puts up Jasson Dominguez rookie autograph card (this is prior to hearing the UCL tear news) vs. Jordan Lawlare rookie autograph for debate. John asks which player would be the better hobby investment: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander vs. Trae Young; and Clark puts up the Derek Jeter SP Foil rookie card – a PSA 9 vs BGS 9.5 of the same card.
