first of all there is the so-called green card application process and the so-called green cut lottery now the difference is very clear it’s that you know the first path would be that a company or a family member or a person you have been married or falling in love and has the permanent residence already as us citizen.

Whatever but that means basically that the first case is something where somebody or a company can file for a permanent residency for you in the united states which is also known as the green card so this is one chapter and that has nothing to do with the so-called green card lottery.

Because the green card lottery is as the name already says it’s a lottery it’s a game that happens once a year and i also wanted to give you a heads up because a lot of people asked me sent me always over and over again of course that question like hey bernhard i found like an agency online and whatever everybody tells me and sent me multiple messages with a huge variation of costs so that an agency is charging it wants 200 euros then afterwards 300 years or whatever moving on with multiple steps in this process.

But they are basically uh telling you hey we are filing for your green card application sorry the green card lottery application we’re doing this for you if you pay us okay so what is important to know is and and i me immediately i would like to let you know this if you don’t know that yet you can play or you can participate in the green card lottery uh every day that would be nice now every year not every day every year for free completely for free so again if you would like to apply for the green card lottery then you can file this green card lottery application once a year completely for free by yourself and you don’t need to pay anybody at all now how how does this actually work well there is an official website which i also post below this video of course from the us government and they basically give you this option and say like look if you would like to participate if you would like to apply and to be on board in and with the green card lottery system then you have to follow those specific steps and you have to apply online that’s it now if you do that i would say the whole preparation process to have your documents ready to have the photo ready and everything i document so i cannot speak in general how long that might take you some people are more organized some people are less organized but fact is let’s say you have all those documents and you’re ready to do that then the application process should be fairly easily done under one hour so you have to imagine this it’s basically an online platform uh there are forms you have to fill out from your name street address and everything else you you’ll be asked and uh that’s how you do it and you can do this once a year now what i also wanted to mention to you is if you are already basically registered entire family i said like it no i cannot basically make this dependent a hundred percent on a game you know if i’m going to be pulled out from this part yes or no this is nonsense because like i said i cannot plan my future accordingly and i will not put my future of my life into the hand of her of a lottery of a game i’m not a gambler at all so this is what you have to consider and that’s maybe many times also misunderstood and when immigrants like telling me that so or asking me like bernard you’re saying i should not participate i should not apply in the green card lottery no i’m not saying that either so what i’m saying is like to the falling that’s my recommendation if you’re really serious about moving quickly to the united states then number one the green card lottery is not something that moves you quickly right first of all you know you need to apply uh then you need to be a lucky winner which you know chances are fairly low but even so it takes over a year the process until you will be notified and you could actually even move to the united states so as you can see that doesn’t even go fairly quick even if you would be like a winner so what i’m saying is if you’re serious about moving to the united states don’t put it into good luck don’t put it like into you know the dependency of a game and take action and take full responsibility and do basically what i did similar stuff like plan it accordingly follow specific steps in the specific procedure and you know basically follow your dream and say like look i can do this i don’t need to depend on a lottery
