Griffith's Abuse: Five Missed Opportunities
Update: 2025-12-08
Description
In Plain Sight report reveals five missed opportunities to stop Queenslands most prolific child abuser, Ashley Paul Griffith, who abused dozens of children over two decades. Griffith was convicted of three hundred and seven offenses, including rape against girls as young as three. The review found that a reportable conduct scheme could have prevented much of this harm, as concerns were repeatedly raised but never led to a clear resolution. The Queensland government plans to launch such a scheme in July next year to create a legal framework for reporting and investigating child abuse allegations.
