Many times, we hide from God when we need help out of the consequences of our mistakes but God indeed wants us to run to him at such times. Adam and Eve hid themselves using what was made for them against the one who made it. Sometimes, our desperation to hide from God because of our mistakes leaves us at the mercy of things we ordinarily have authority over. The tree was made for them, they had authority over these trees but in their desperation to hide from God because of their sin, they entrusted their safety to what could not save them.
