Diane Hinderaker, Executive Director, Boone Greene County Probation talks about challenges the agency faces with a change in direction for probation. The service has been available in Boone County for 40-years, as a way to allow those placed on probation as a way to meet obligations. Those are cases that aren’t handled at the state level. There are fee’s associated with the service and for a variety of reasons those fee’s are declining which means the non-profit service faces funding issues. Hinderaker talks about that and more. Hannah Park, Prevention Specialist with Community and Family Resources speaks about prevention related learning opportunities during this time of the year. She also notes there’s updated data and gambling addiction, yet many don’t feel they have a problem. Park also talks about efforts to bring back an interest in Red Ribbon week. She said a lot of information about Red Ribbon Week and preventing drug usage was put out over Halloween. Aired Monday, November 10, 2025.

Jennifer Hanson, Executive Director, Boone County Chamber of Commerce visits about Chamber activity. This week the Chamber hosted another Coffee Connections event about AI. Boone Mayor Elijah Stines talks about the Boone City Council meeting held Monday. Stines reported a fairly quick meeting. A Public Hearing was held on a project to rehabilitate the Ground Storage Reservoir at the Water Treatment Plant. Bidding will be the next step. Stines noted that several engineering contracts were awarded to SEH for development of plans for projects at Boone Water Works, including a new transmission main to run on the northside of the city to the Boone Industrial Park. Howland plays the lead Jekyll and Hyde and talks about the opportunity to be in the musical. David Michael has been in many Community Theatre productions and Hannah Mishark is still fairly new to Boone Community Theatre. Ondrea Elmquist, Boone City Administrator, talks about budget preparation. It is that time of the year and she said it began with the City’s Capital Improvement Plan. She explained the process, identifying the capital projects that are active and others that are pending. She talked about funding and how many city reserves are designated for capital projects happening in the next couple of years. This year the plan is large due to infrastructure for the Daisy Plant.
